Description
Working one-on-one with a design mentor at this level means getting direct, practical answers to the questions that actually stall creative work: how to structure a brand identity system, how to present design decisions with confidence, and how to build a portfolio that gets noticed by real clients or employers. This session is built around your specific project or career stage, not a generic curriculum - expect focused feedback on your work, clear next steps, and a sharper sense of direction by the end of the call.
The experience is collaborative rather than one-directional. You bring the challenge - a portfolio that isn't landing, a brand that feels unfocused, a creative career decision you're stuck on - and leave with a concrete plan, informed by someone who has built and led a design practice at scale. It's the kind of guided conversation that shortcuts months of trial and error into a single, well-structured hour.
Who is Abu Nabhan
Abu Nabhan leads Design School at HACA, part of the Haris&Co. group, where he has spent years building the design education arm from the ground up - first as Head of Design, then stepping into the Founder and CEO role for the school itself. His path into design education came through the agency side, working on branding and visual identity for real clients before turning that hands-on experience into a structured way of training the next generation of designers.
What sets Abu apart is his refusal to separate design thinking from business thinking. He's worked across branding, ad campaigns, and visual identity for consumer brands, and he brings that same practical, outcomes-first lens to mentoring - pushing people past "does this look good" into "does this work, and can you defend why." Whether you're a student trying to break into the industry or a working designer trying to level up, his approach is grounded in real projects, honest feedback, and the belief that good design is a skill you build through repetition, not a talent you either have or don't.
